“National Reading” in the Center of Polish Initiatives in Greece

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, the Center of Polish Initiatives in Greece joined the campaign entitled “National Reading” initiated in 2012 by the Presidential Couple.

Mr. Jacek Gmoch, Honorary President of OIP, together with his wife Stefania Gmoch and President of OIP Beata Panagiotopoulou read fragments of “Kordian” by Juliusz Słowacki together.

This excellent work was first published in 1834 in Paris and is one of the poet’s most important literary achievements. The author presented an image of the era and a romantic vision of the fate of the generation of Polish conspirators.

Ms. Krystyna Arkouda and Ms. Teresa Panagiotidou, members of the Center of Polish Initiatives in Greece, read with passion selected fragments of Juliusz Słowacki’s drama.

This year’s National Reading was an excellent opportunity to appreciate the value of reading and encounter flagship works of Polish literature.
